I recently signed up for Netflix for my family, and boy has it really had an impact on our lives! I am already addicted to multiple shows, and I’ve learned how to finish an entire TV show (including multiple seasons) in under a month! That’s insane! And, to make matters worse, my kids are even worse about than my husband and I are. One of my daughters finished all three seasons of the Mindy Project in two weeks. We were pretty concerned when we didn’t see her leave her room with the exception of meals, and on the odd occasion to do some homework. We actually had to ban her from using Netflix because she wouldn’t stop using it and she was falling behind on her homework! 

I guess I’m being pretty hypocritical about my daughter though. My husband and I have been watching Netflix all the time! We’ve started four shows since we got it: House of Cards, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Arrested Development and Homeland. We finished Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt in one week. That’s all it took! From the moment we started the show we were hooked—it’s just so funny! And, it’s not even stupid humour, which both my husband and I hate. We also love Arrested Development, which will definitely take us a little longer to finish since there are four or five seasons! We also finished Homeland, which we didn’t enjoy closer to the end. But, we were determined to finish it since we had already invested so much time in it!! And, we also started House of Cards, which is by far both of our favourite shows. The actors are so amazing in it, the characters are so well developed, and the plot is so magnificently planned out. We are one episode away from the last in season three, the latest season!

But the problem with Netflix is that now we’ve got all these finished shows that we have to wait an entire year for the new season to come out! It’s torturous! We’ve decided that we’re going to try and take it slow with some of the other shows that we watch. In many ways I really think watching regular TV is much better than Netflix. Netflix takes up so much time, and like I said, we have to wait a long time for the new season to come! But, at the same time, I hate commercials! Happy Netflix Binging everyone!
